Toyota to use Nvidia tech
Toyota Motor Corp will use Nvidia’s autonomous driving platform for its upcoming self-driving cars according to Automotive News Europe.
Toyota joins Tesla Motors, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Volvo Cars in using Nvidia technology in developing autonomous vehicles.
‘This is a very significant milestone for us. Toyota is one of the largest automakers in the world,’ said Danny Shapiro, head of automotive at Nvidia.
A spokesperson for Toyota said it could not comment on specific product plans that would include the platform, but added that the manufacturer will integrate technology from a variety of suppliers into its self-driving cars.
