Jac closes in on top spot
Fix Auto UK-backed driver Jac Constable has moved to within seven points of the Ginetta GT4 Supercup Championship leader Colin White.
Jac achieved his first ever hat-trick of victories in his debut season of the AM Class Championship, as well as two pole positions and three fastest laps, walking away with maximum points from the race weekend.
While he led from lights-to-flag for the first two races, Jac had to start from fourth place on the grid for the third and final race of the weekend. After a great start, Jac had taken second place by the first corner and went on to force White wide on lap three to move clear of the field, where he stayed to take his third chequered flag.
Jac said, ‘Everything just came together. Apart from some technical issues during the first free practice session which hampered our preparation going into qualifying, it was a perfect weekend. Coming out on top after going head-to-head with Colin who leads the championship was an incredible feeling. I am thrilled to have walked away with maximum points from the weekend.’
Jac will be back in action at Snetterton in Norfolk on July 29/30.
