Biba: May’s speech ‘ticks most boxes’
The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has said that Theresa May’s Brexit speech yesterday ‘ticks most of the boxes’.
Biba’s 2017 manifesto urged the government to negotiate for single market access or, if not, particular solutions for certain sectors.
Speaking to Insurance Age, Steve White, chief executive, said, ‘There is nothing that the Prime Minister has said that contradicts our position, that our members have access to a tariff-free barrier-free single market. That has not been ruled out by what she has said.’
He added, ‘What she has shown us has given us quite some encouragement and ticks most of the boxes that we have been asking for.’
