U-Pol celebrates ‘stunning’ achievement
U-Pol’s relaunch has received a huge thumbs up after it was named as a finalist during the British Coatings Federation (BCF) Awards.
The Northamptonshire-based company was named on the shortlist just days after its official relaunch. It was recognised in the Sustainable Innovation Award for its Rapid Clearcoat, which has been developed over the last 12 months at the company’s research and development facilities in Wellingborough.
The product was praised for its low volatile organic compound (VOC), its flexibility and greatly reduced curing speeds along with its ability to save money-sapping energy when used by bodyshops.
U-Pol CEO Guy Williams, said, ‘Being named as a finalist in such a prestigious event so soon after our re-launch is, quite simply, stunning and bodes very well for our future. U-Pol has been at the forefront of innovation and development in the vehicle repair sector for the past 70 years.
‘Maintaining this is critical in re-launching the business and for our future development. We are extremely proud of our extensive product back catalogue but we cannot afford to rest on our laurels of previous successes. Rapid is the first of several new products currently in the pipeline and has been developed as a direct response to our market research which revealed bodyshops were crying out for a new product that aided their necessity to speed up the repair process and yet continue to yield a show-room finish.’
