RMI delivers clear message
RMI Bodyshops (NAB & VBRA) attended the seventh annual ‘I Love Claims Conference’ to deliver one clear message – ‘Treat bodyshops fairly’.
The conference, which was attended by over 250 claims professionals, was an opportunity for the industry to address topics such as legislation, personal injury claims, consumer engagement and vehicle repair.
Speaking on behalf of RMI Bodyshops was executive director Jason Moseley, who presented and took part on an industry panel as the ‘voice of the repairer’ to share his first-hand experience of the current and emerging risks for both insurers and work providers.
Moseley commented, ‘Some of the dilutive repair contracts being forced onto our members are resulting in a self-fulfilling prophecy for the automotive claims sector.
‘The need for bodyshops to invest in skills and infrastructure to ensure the safe repair of a technology product like modern motor vehicles can only be done with fair contract terms.
‘The claims sector is already seeking some capacity issues and that will ultimately push prices up. It would be far better to work together as proper supply chain partners to develop joint plans that will ensure a brighter future for the sector.’
