M3 is September’s Car Hero
The E46 BMW M3 is Glass’s Used Car Hero for September, providing what Glass’s claims is ‘a driving experience to rival almost any supercar in a family-friendly package’.
Andy Cutler, forecast values editor, said, ‘This generation of M3 was recognised as very special from the moment it went on sale in 2000 and is fast becoming recognised as a classic.’ Production stopped in 2006 and the car was available up to 2007.
He continued, ‘It had an absolutely fantastic straight six engine that produced 338bhp, capable of pushing it from 0-60mph in just 5.1 seconds with a limited top speed of 155mph. Even by today’s standards this is still great performance and it also sounded fantastic with a wonderful raspy growl.’
Some of Andy’s key points that make this M3 a ‘Hero’ are the competitive prices alongside the relatively cheap servicing cost you get for the performance standard (around £200). Andy also believes that the M3 is still a great track car and one of the best-loved M3s with a place in every petrol heads heart.
