Auto Windscreens launches new academy

Auto Windscreens has opened its new training and innovation academy, serving as a centre of excellence for vehicle glass repair technicians.

The fully accredited Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) centre will nurture up and coming young talent in the industry and support already trained technicians looking to develop their skills through automotive glazing IMI accreditations and NVQ assessments. It includes a designated training room and houses new vehicles featuring the latest windscreen technology, including built-in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), so trainees can practice complex repair and replacement techniques.

Auto Windscreens’ technical and innovation manager, Tony Green is behind the training and innovation academy’s development. He said, ‘Our technicians have always been trained to a high standard but the academy provides a renewed focus on excellence and offers learning in a vibrant, fresh environment. The centre will be used to train individuals new to the business and to develop the skills of experienced technicians in line with industry standards and advancements in technology.’

Auto Windscreens claims the opening of the centre is just the beginning of an exciting number of training developments being introduced to promote first-rate automotive glass repairs and encourage young people into the trade.
