‘A success story for the RAC’
At least 50,000 used cars will be sold by the RAC Approved Dealer Network this year, according to new figures – meaning it has gone from zero to outstripping many manufacturer approved used car schemes in just three years.
The RAC also says its network has passed the 250-member mark, while last year it doubled in number to just under 200 dealers and plans to have around 350 in place by the end of this year.
The RAC Approved Dealer Network is built around RAC BuySure, a used car proposition designed to provide customers with a nationwide approved used vehicle scheme open to all kinds of dealers.
Sean Kent, director, corporate and independent dealers at The Warranty Group, the RAC’s partner in the dealer sector, said, ‘With the RAC Approved Dealer Network and RAC BuySure, we set out to create a national used car initiative that had high appeal for both buyers and dealers.
‘With the level of sales that we are now seeing and the size of the network itself, we feel that we are well on the way to achieving that target. It is very much a success story for the RAC and for the dealers involved.’
RAC BuySure sees dealers commit to an 82-point RAC Approved Preparation Standard on every vehicle, a vehicle data check, and a minimum of three months of RAC Warranty cover. In support of this, the RAC provides 12 months’ RAC breakdown cover and enrolment for the customer to RAC Accident Care at no extra cost.
