Swinton makes job cuts
Swinton Insurance is to cut 10% of its support staff with a 30-day consultation period starting on 16 April, Insurance Age has revealed.
The broker confirmed that staff were informed yesterday.
Insurance Age understands that up to 100 people will be affected but Swinton declined to put an exact figure on the final job losses.
A spokesperson for Swinton Insurance, said, ‘Like any business we continually review our cost base in order to become more efficient, so that we can continue to deliver the good service and value that our customers expect.
‘We have informed colleagues about a headcount review in our support functions which is likely to result in a reduction in the number of roles required.
‘Where possible we will look to achieve any reductions through natural staff turnover and by removing contract roles.’
The broker also confirmed that no customer facing roles, such as in branches or call centres, will be affected by the review.
The spokesperson added, ‘We understand the impact these proposed changes will have on our staff and will continue to support them during this process.’
