Mitsubishi takes LCV accolade
The Mitsubishi L200 has been named as the What Van? Light Commercial Vehicle of the Year.
The award recognises the new pick-up’s vast improvement in interior quality, drive and, crucially for light commercial vehicle operators, efficiency. Mitsubishi collected the coveted trophy at the exclusive What Van? Awards luncheon, held in partnership with fuel card giant Allstar at The Brewery in London today.
The L200 also collected the Pick-up of the Year award, while Mitsubishi completed a hat-trick with the Outlander 4Work PHEV winning the What Van? Green Award.
There were two inductees into the What Van? Hall of Fame: the Ford Transit, which celebrates half a century of leading the LCV sales charts, while the Freight Transport Association’s head of vans Mark Cartwright was included for his passionate and knowledgeable campaigning to improve standards among van operators.
Ford also picked up the Small Van gong for the Transit Courier, while the Vauxhall Vivaro won both Medium Van of the Year, along with its Renault Trafic sister vehicle, and Used Van of the Year. The Fiat Doblo Cargo won the Light Van of the Year, and the Iveco Daily is the Large Van of the Year.
Other winners included Mercedes-Benz, Dacia, Nissan, Citroen, DawsonRental and VFS.
