JCC raise over £43K for Macmillan

Macmillan Cancer Support has been Just Car Clinics’ official charity since 2012, with the partnership now stronger than ever entering into its fourth year.

Sadly, six years ago (24th September 2009), JCC lost a work colleagues and friend, Sandra Hirst, who worked in the Leeds branch, to cancer. Unfortunately, cancer has touched the lives of so many of the team in one way or another, losing colleagues, friends and family, giving the team great enthusiasm to support the great work Macmillan Cancer Support do supporting people living with cancer and their loved ones.

In 2012 JCC started a fundraising partnership with Macmillan and set out with the aim of raising £15,000. In that year through various fundraising efforts from colleagues, corporate clients, customers and suppliers JCC has raised a total amount of £15,557.32 and from that moment there has been no looking back.

Employees from all of the company sites have really taken to the challenge with great enthusiasm, partaking in a whole host of fundraising activities including, golf days, 10k’s, Great North Run, charity bike rides, hill climbs, race day sponsoring and last year’s ice bucket challenges to name but a few. In addition, all 28 branches and the Training and Support Centre have Macmillan sweet boxes and offer customers a special Macmillan valet with the profits going to the charity.

As JCC enters into the fourth year of supporting Macmillan Cancer Support the company is delighted to announce that it has raised a staggering £43,276.65 to date.

We would like to thank everybody for their amazing support over the years and hopefully that figure will continue to grow.

Dawn Swales, HR and training manager said, ‘I am overwhelmed by the efforts of the Just Car Clinics team members for raising funds to help Macmillan Cancer Support – they are all amazing. We have lost four team members to cancer and it is great to be able to give something back to Macmillan Cancer Support who was involved caring for them and their families. Our thoughts will be with the four of them when we hold our Coffee morning events.’
